Booking the Old Town Hall

The three principal rooms on the first floor of the Old Town Hall are available for hire, both individually and as an entire suite.

Whether you are a business, a community group or a single family, we can offer facilities for a wide range of events, functions and activities, including:

Room Hire Details

Grand Hall

Measuring 15 x 11.5m, this was once the Gravesend Corporation’s Council Chamber. Now restored to its Edwardian glory, it will accommodate 175 people theatre-style, or 100 seated for a banquet.

For those special occasions, guests can process up the grand staircase and, when used together with the Old Court Room and the Parlour Room, it becomes a flexible suite offering both grandeur and intimacy.

Old Court Room

A sumptuous but light and airy chamber measuring 9 x 7m, this was once a court room. Ideal for smaller events, the Old Court Room will seat up to 45 people theatre-style for training events, ceremonies, talks and small recitals, and it can be used for business or family meals.

When used as part of a suite with the Grand Hall and The Parlour Room, it is ideal as a reception, buffet and bar area.

The Parlour Room

An intimate and tasteful room measuring 4.3 x 4.4m, this was once the Judges’ retiring room. It is ideal for business meetings, small workshops, and intimate ceremonies.

When used as part of a suite with the Grand Hall and Old Court Room, it provides that ‘extra’ space – e.g. as a reception room for principal guests, or as a ‘green room’ for performance artistes.

Refreshments and other Services

Refreshments can be supplied in support of your event, and a full catering service can be arranged for banquets, wedding breakfasts, etc.

We can also arrange to provide equipment, materials or other services in support of your event, ranging from notepads and pens for training events through to party supplies for that special occasion.
